Other Support for Families
Sometimes families need support beyond the therapy room. Whether you’re looking for parenting advice, practical help, activities for a young person or simply somewhere to start, there are some fantastic organisations working with children, young people and families in Penzance and across West Cornwall.
Penzance Family Hub
A great first point of contact if you’re unsure where to turn. The Family Hub supports families with children and young people from pre-birth to 19, or up to 25 for young people with SEND. Support includes parenting advice and programmes, Early Help, child development, health and wellbeing support and connections to other local services.
Trelya
A Penzance-based charity providing long-term, relationship-based support for children, young people and families. Their work includes youth provision, family support, practical help and support around challenges such as housing, food poverty, education and wellbeing.
PZN Youth
A welcoming youth provision in the heart of Penzance for young people aged 11–17, with additional targeted support available for some older young people. They provide free open-access youth sessions, activities, food, trips and projects, giving young people somewhere safe to spend time, connect and be themselves.
Young People Cornwall
Provides youth work and projects across Cornwall, including opportunities around wellbeing, mental health, education, training, activities and youth clubs.

You don’t have to know exactly what you need
Finding the right support can sometimes feel overwhelming. If I feel that another service may be better placed to support a particular need, I will always be happy to signpost families towards other appropriate services and professionals.
Asking for support is not a failure. Sometimes the most helpful thing we can do for a child is make sure the right people are around them.
